Here's what I use with the ultimate sketch book.
Setup: I thinly draw an outline of a face, add couple of fins either side, add a large tail coming out of head ( not much room but if you draw it going to right it looks ok)
Begin to tell story of Jonah, how he was go to Iraq ( present name of Tarshish ) decided to leg it to Spain (Nineveh) instead - well which would you prefer? Go through the story until Jonah is brought up on deck. as he looks over side (move eyes ) deny this when people react - normally any kids will scream. Bit of play with this - Then draw in fins and move mouth and eyes a few times - deny this of course and as Jonah is tossed over, mouth opens again. Now talk of repentence and get whale to spew Jonah out. End story how you like. Spiritual application? Sin is disobedience to God and whilst it may not be as drastic as Jonah's plight, the consequences -separation- are the same. Don't wait for a traumatic experience before turning to God etc. etc.
